SKATERS PLAYING MULTI-LEVELS
After careful thought and through discussions with coaches from a range of leagues, the organising committee has decided that this year, skaters will need to remain in their own level for all games.
In practice, this means a Level 3 skater will only skate in Level 3 games and won’t be able to “skate down” into a lower level.
We’ve also spoken with several newer leagues who have shared how important it is for their skaters that Level 2 games be a true Level 2 experience.
We want to make sure these games are a safe, supportive learning space where developing skaters can build skills and confidence without being overmatched.
Ultimately, our goal is to create fair, level-appropriate matchups for every skater, supporting both safety and skill development while keeping the competition fun and balanced.
Will there be potluck teams in 2026?

Additionally to ensure that teams are fair across the board, we’re not allowing skaters to play in multiple teams within the same level (or other level).
Do I Have To Be In The Same Level For Bootcamp as Games?
Yes. Your skater will be in the same level bootcamp as they are in games. If they select multiple levels at registration, please note we will liase with the coach of that team (or home league/club) to confirm what level the skater should be in. They cannot move ‘across levels’.
For example: If they are going to play level 2 games, they will need to be in level 2 bootcamp.
Do we have to register as a team and HOW do we register a team?
Each skater needs to be registered individually – we don’t take team registrations.
Each skater when registering will nominate what league/club they skate with. Where the league/club has enough skaters for a team in that level, your skater will be allocated to that team.
In the instance where a league/club does not have enough for a team at the skater-registration level, they will be allocated to a combo team for that level.
However if your league/club has an alliance with another league/club, you can ask us to do our best to combo you together.
If you want to ask a question specifically about your league/club, email the organisers at : borderclash@ausjrd.com.au
How much is it to register?
We have a clear and transparent ‘early bird’ pricing schedule for 2026:
How do I sign up as an official?
You can sign up as an official here: https://www.revolutionise.com.au/ausjrd/events/306660
I turn 18 before BorderClash. Can I come?
As this is a junior tournament, we are keeping the ages that can participate of Under 18.
The exception to this, is if the junior human turns 18 during the month of BorderClash, then we will accept that junior human as a junior skater. They fall under all the same rules/guidelines as all other junior participants (including supervision, etc).
This means for 2025, they may turn 18 in October, 2025. If they turn 18 prior to this, then they are ineligible to register

Can I drop my junior off and leave?
Please take a look at our Borderclash Junior Policy here
The long and the short of it is this: you are responsible for your junior and at no time are the Borderclash organisers nor Borderclash coaches to be ‘left in charge’ of your junior. If you wish to leave, you will need to nominate a parent/guardian to be responsible for your junior.
If you have something specific you’d like to ask, please do so here: borderclash@ausjrd.com.au
